Wilke Leaving 'Jazz After Hours'

Jim Wilke (photo) is stepping down as host of Jazz After Hours after some 30 years as its host.

Jeff Hanley takes over the program Oct. 1.

Jazz After Hours is distributed by Public Radio International.

Hanley has worked closely with Jim in the past. He engineered more than 500 shows for Wilke and has hosted a Sunday morning jazz show on KZAM/Seattle, and the 24/7 jazz station, KJZZ/Seattle.

Last Year Jazz After Hours won the Willis Conover-Marian McPartland Award for Jazz Broadcasting from The Jazz Journalists Association; and also topped JazzTimes Critics’ and Readers’ Polls for best jazz show.
