Public Radio Capital Now Public Media Company

The organization known as Public Radio Capital has changed its name to Public Media Company.

A new statement from the Boulder, CO organization said in a statement:
"Over the past twelve years, Public Radio Capital (PRC) has worked with more than 275 different public broadcasting entities to strengthen and expand public media services to local communities nationwide. Founded to "broaden the reach of public radio", PRC has worked in 46 states as a public media consultant, broker, policy advocate and strategic advisor. At local and national levels, we are dedicated to building partnerships and cross-industry networks to improve program offerings, increase public media audiences, and strengthen the financial health of public media.

"To better reflect the breadth of this work, we have changed our name to Public Media Company (PMC), and redefined our mission - "To maximize the relevance and impact of public media for all."
In the works for the new company is what it calls an "... extensible public media database to capture audience, financial and engagement metrics across all platforms and activities in public television and radio. The database is a grassroots effort, supported through partnership with leading public media stations, informed by PMC’s experience with organizational change and financial modeling for 250 + stations. The database will facilitate automated dashboards to measure operational performance, reflect local and national benchmarks, reveal new cohorts based on shared objectives, and support data aggregation and ingest to facilitate collection."
