Metropolitan Opera Settles with Unions

According to FT.com: "The Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service said on Monday that deals had been made between New York City’s Met and its singers and orchestra members, represented by the unions Local 802 and the American Guild of Musical Artists respectively."

Tom Taylor Now quotes KDFC's President Bill Leuth:
“Yes, opera broadcasts are polarizing for the audience, but now that we're
a public station [again], we put the Met back on because it's a musical
treasure that deserves to be heard. That's part of our mission, to play great
music even though sometimes it may not be as broadly popular compared to the
general classical programming we offer.”
