Dring to Dayton

Dayton Public Radio (Discover Classical) has hired Cheryl Dring as Program Director starting next week.  Cheryl was most recently PD at KMFA, Austin and previously worked at stations in Shreveport, Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Sacramento and Madison, WI.  She will take over the position previously held by Shaun Yu who has been promoted to President/CEO.

Dring will also be the station's midday announcer.  She said:

“It’s always thrilling to talk to a listener who has just discovered the station, and who is surprised to discover he/she likes the music! You never know what that ‘trigger’ piece will be–sometimes it’s Bach or Barber, sometimes Stravinsky or Arvo Pärt.”
