PRPD News for Programmers

Celeste Headley will be joining GPB's new station in Atlanta this September, mzrking the first programming move since the organization announced bringing its service to that market.  Headley will be hosting a one hour local news and info show in midday.

She has recently been guest host for NPR's Weekend ATC, Talk of the Nation and Tell Me More.  Headley was the original co-host (with John Hockenberry) of The Takeaway from WNYC and PRI.  Her local hosting experience includes stints at WDET and KNAU.

A release on the GPB website says:

“GPB is thrilled to have a journalist of Celeste’s merit to host our first one-hour local radio program in Atlanta,” says GPB President and CEO Teya Ryan. “This move continues to show our commitment to providing an all-news and information public radio schedule not currently available to Atlantans. We feel very fortunate to have Celeste at the helm of the program, and know that she will be a great addition to the local community.”
