Beach New VP for Distribution at NPR

NPR has appointed Michael Beach as its new vice president of distribution. He succeeds Pete Loewenstein, who retired from NPR in December.

Beach has been director of program management at commercial satellite operator Intelsat S.A., He will oversee the Public Radio Satellite System, which distributes programming to about 1,600 public radio stations.

Beach will join NPR May 27 and report to Vice President of Technology Operations & Broadcast Engineering Marty Garrison.

He previously was assistant general manager and chief technology officer for Nebraska Educational Telecommunications, held technical and security roles for NSN Network Services, which is now a service of Clear Channel Communications.
