Barrington Leaving NEPR

After eight years at New England Public Radio (a.k.a. WFCR) in Amherst, MA, Helen Barrington is stepping down as executive director for programming and content next month.

The masslive.com website is reporting she leaves on April 18 to become executive director of Voices Boston formerly PALS Children's Chorus.

masslive.com quotes NEPR CEO & GM Martin Miller:
"Helen has done great work for the station over her tenure, and while we are sad to see her go, this is an exciting move for her. "
The station has hired John Voci as interim executive director for programming and content, and a search will be conducted in December.

In a post to the pubradio.org Barrington said:
"I'm sad to be leaving the public radio family, for now. But, those of you who know me, know I'll be listening. And I expect to be intersecting with many of you in the coming months. It is my hope that the skills I develop in this new gig will help me continue to be of service to public media. And even come back, down the road."
