J.J. Yore To Manage WAMU

Former Marketplace general manager, co-creator and producer J.J. Yore has been named to lead WAMU, Washington as GM.  His tenure will begins on August 1 marking a return to the area where he grew up and began his journalism work.

A release on the WAMU website quotes American University Chief of Staff David Taylor:

“We are pleased to have J.J.’s programming creativity, broadcasting knowledge and ability to attract top talent to help WAMU continue its trajectory of impressive success,”

Yore will replace Caryn Mathes who left the station last year to assume the GM role at KUOW, Seattle.
