Changes beginning March 1 will trim about two hours off each of three the daily shows.
Deb Acklin, president and CEO of WQED, said that the changes were made following a seven-month study that included a survey of 1,600 people of members and nonmembers. She told the Post-Gazette "... listeners were adamant about maintaining a round-the-clock classical presence.
"We wanted to guarantee a future for WQED-FM and if that meant we had to make some financial adjustments, we were willing to make them, as painful as that process is."
