What would you get if the Food Network Collided with NPR?No, not Rachel Ray as host of Wait, Wait! Don't Bake Me.
Instead, you'd have the new book All Cakes Considered: A Year's Worth of Weekly Recipes Tasted, Tested, and Approved by the Staff of All Things Considered.
ATC producer Melissa Gray actually bakes a cake for the staff of the afternoon magazine show just about every Monday, according to a piece on NPR this afternoon. Now she recounts her creations in the book.
The story is also a bit of a "tell all" when it comes to cakes. The story on NPR.org says:
--- Michele Norris is very easy to please, Gray says, but she does not eat coconut.
--- Robert Siegel claims he does not eat cake, Gray says, but she says she has seen him take cookies.
--- Melissa Block likes fried pie, brown sugar pound cake and bittersweet chocolate frosted layer cake.
--- Morning Edition host Steve Inskeep is a butterscotch guy.
--- Film critic Bob Mondello loves coconut cake.
--- And, news analyst Dan Schorr is partial to frosting.
